Scissors or a box cutter, ruler or measuring stick, a pen and a plastic smoother. A smoother is a hard rubber spatula obtainable from an arts and crafts supply or DIY store.

It should be smooth, dust-free and grease-free; untreated wood (chipboard or plywood) should first be treated with a primer (sealing primer/acrylic base).

You can use a ruler and pen to draw any desired shape on the foil backing paper before cutting it out. The grid marked out on the backing paper helps here. If you want to produce precise edges you should always cut the foil about 4mm longer than you need it and then cut away the excess foil with a sharp knife or box cutter.

If the surface to be covered with foil is larger than the foil dimensions, several pieces of foil can be attached to each other. Stick the individual pieces together so that they overlap by approximately 10 mm to avoid exposed areas later on. Our foils are unsuitable for covering larger surfaces such as walls as they cannot be processed like wallpaper, since the pattern is offset and sections cannot be placed perfectly under or next to each other.

No problem. The foil can be carefully peeled off and reattached (except from paper or cardboard). It takes several hours for its full adhesive power to develop.

Of course. To do so, heat up the foil using a hair dryer on its lowest setting and pull it around the edges in the desired shape and press down. When the foil is warm it is easy to pull it around corners and edges. However, be careful not to overstretch the foil.

It is always best only to remove part of the backing paper and press down on the foil from the middle to the sides using a scraper or cloth. If you place the foil incorrectly, you can peel it off and try again (except from paper or card board). For the best result, use a scraper to smooth it out. Alternatively, you can use a small square of wood covered with a soft piece of carpet or fabric.

With non-porous surfaces a little water can be sprayed on the surface. This makes it easier to apply the foil.

If this happens you should use a commercially available superglue (please observe manufacturer's information: plasticizer resistant) or iron the foil on setting 1, placing a sheet of paper between the iron and the foil.

We recommend Pattex strong transparent adhesive or UHU all-purpose strong adhesive to help with the application in particularly critical situations. These are solvent-based adhesives where you should allow as much as possible of the solvent to escape before the surface and foil are brought together. According to the manufacturers, the adhesives are suitable for many plastics. Even so, we recommend testing this beforehand to see how the surface on which the foil is to be applied reacts to the adhesive. Alternatively, you can also use water-based (solvent-free) adhesives – it is important to ensure that the adhesive is resistant to plasticisers. However, a specific type of glue cannot be recommended here.

d-c-fix foils can withstand temperatures of up to 80°C.

Of course. If water often gets onto the edges of the foil (e.g. on a wash basin), you should seal them with silicone or cold-welding liquid.

Yes, d-c-fix foils can be cleaned with any commercially available cleaning products. The best option is warm water with a little dishwashing liquid. Wet patches can be rubbed dry with a soft cloth.

The use of alcohol-based disinfectants should be avoided. There is a risk of the print colour fading or blurring slightly.

In principle, the foil should adhere. However, it also depends on the condition of the surface. It is important that this is free of dust, grease and dirt. Sand down edges or uneven surfaces a little – it is best to vacuum afterwards and wipe them with a wet cloth, then allow to dry. Place the foil on the surface in one sweep and press it firmly down using a scraper or cloth.

No, adhesive foils are not floor coverings or intended for traffic. The foil scratches and is destroyed.

This is generally possible. However, the surface should be as smooth as possible (e.g. no chequer plate foil) and free of dust and grease.

If the bottom layer is a PP or PE foil (polyolefin), for example, the adhesion will no longer be as strong as on other surfaces.

If the foil is applied to an existing PVC foil, it will no longer be easy to remove at a later date because the foils form a strong bond.

In principle, this is possible. However, it is important to take into account whether the lacquer is resistant to plasticisers and which solvents are in the lacquer. (Ethanol/isopropanol/water/benzene are suitable solvents)

Starting from one corner, simply peel off the foil. The foil is particularly easy to remove if it is warmed up (here again you should use a hair dryer). You can remove any adhesive residue using an alcohol-based solvent.

Option 1:

Spray the adhesive residues with clean water and let soak for a few minutes. The adhesive swells and can be scraped off with a spatula / scraper.

Option 2:

Wet the adhesive residues with a mixture of white spirit and isopropanol (at a ratio of 1:1), let soak and scrape off with a spatula / scraper. If necessary, finish with a (window) cleaning agent.

There is a risk of small residues, which is why you should test it beforehand on some inconspicuous area.

d-c-fix foils contain no heavy metals, are colorfast according to DIN EN ISO 105-B02 and wear- and abrasion-resistant according to DIN EN ISO 105-X12. Only solvent-free dispersion adhesives are used. d-c-fix foils are also perfectly safe for children's rooms if used according to instructions.

No. In the event of a fire our foils will burn just like other PVC products.

Self-adhesive window foils can also be processed wet (with water) – this is actually recommended, to position the foil better on the window and avoid air bubbles.

The water makes it easier to apply. The squeegee slides easier over the foil.

The foils can be used in rooms with high humidity. For example, they can be applied to a shower cubicle or window.

An adhesive foil can be heated with a hair dryer and then peeled off.

The statically adhering d-c-fix foil can easily be removed from the glass surface without any residue. What is more, the foil can be repositioned as often as you like.

Unlike transparent foil, with translucent d-c-fix window foil the background is only indistinctly discernible. The foil has a frosted effect.

Static-Cling Window Foils

d-c-fix static, d-c-fix static PREMIUM, d-c-fix static window stripes, d-c-fix static window borders

The static foil can be used on real glass and perspex glass.

d-c-fix window foil can withstand temperatures from -10°C to +50°C without difficulty.

d-c-fix window foil sticks via electrostatic adhesion. Simple contact between the foil and a smooth, clean glass surface is sufficient to ensure adhesion.

1. Clean the window.

2. Cut the foil to size, leaving a 2 mm gap from the frame on all sides.

3. Spray the pane with water.

4. Slowly remove the backing paper, starting at a corner.

5. Position the foil on the glass.

6. Press out the water with the scraper.

It's easy: first clean the surface to which you want to adhere the foil thoroughly with a commercially available detergent. Then moisten the surface generously with water containing dishwashing liquid. Detach the backing paper completely from the foil and if necessary also wet the foil. Lay the foil on the moistened surface and move it to the desired position. Now eliminate the water and air bubbles by pressing to the sides using a smoother or a cloth. Any clouding of transparent foil will disappear after a few days at a room temperature of 20°C.

1. The foil's adherence has been made even better.

2. d-c-fix static premium foil is more attractive in appearance and has a higher quality feel.

3. d-c-fix static premium glass and window foil is even easier to attach.

Check that the underlying surface is clean and that the foil is not sticking up or has been applied over edges (or is touching the silicon seal on the window frame) so that air can penetrate. Check that you have removed the backing paper or the transparent backing foil. Try to attach the foil again using plenty of water, and then press the water out thoroughly using a scraper. If the foil still won’t stick, contact us. We will be glad to provide further assistance.

d-c-fix classic Floor Tiles (self-adhesive)

What needs to be considered before laying d-c-fix floor tiles? Prior to gluing, the substrate must be level, smooth and free from dirt, dust, grease and moisture. Joints and unevenness > 3mm must be filled.

The tiles are suitable for laying in areas with a low footfall. No laying on floating floor coverings (laminate, parquet, click vinyl), PVC or linoleum as well as in rooms exposed to heat, cold or high levels of humidity (e.g. underfloor heating, conservatory).

A ruler/measuring tape, pencil and utility knife would be useful. A clean paint roller or similar tool can also be used to apply pressure and improve adhesion.

Yes. All you need is a ruler and a box cutter. The best method is to just score the surface of the tile and then break it along this target line.

Arrows indicating the laying direction are printed on the back. Peel off the backing paper and press the tiles to the floor across the entire surface, starting from the center and working outward toward the edges. The next tile is laid in the same way, adjacent to the tile that has already been laid.

The tiles can be cleaned easily using a damp cloth and cleaning agent.

d-c-fix floor comfort / Decor Mats

If the mats become soiled, they can be cleaned in a washing machine at a maximum of 40°C (spin cycle of 800).

The mats are made of a flexible material that can be easily cut to the desired shape using scissors.

No, the best way to dry a floor comfort/Decor Mat is outdoors over a drying rack.

Yes, floor comfort/Decor Mats can be used in covered and uncovered outdoor areas.

d-c-fix floor function

Our range includes three different qualities of anti-slip rug underlay products with the product names Loom, Cromfort and Trent. Loom and Cromfort products are suitable for smooth and hard floor coverings, and prevent rugs from slipping. In contrast, Trent anti-slip rug underlay is used for textile substrates.

In our floor function product area, we have developed a product that meets specific requirements for contact with food. In addition to the major advantage of being food safe, function pure is also temperature resistant from -30°C to +60°C, making it perfect for use in refrigerators.

d-c-fix click TILE

The floor tiles can be laid easily on the following surfaces:

Ceramic tiles

Natural stone tiles

Stone flooring

Concrete

Wood

WPC (wood plastic composites)

Screed

Asphalt

Laminate

Parquet

Linoleum

Cork

Vinyl flooring

Restrictions when laying the tiles / information:

  • Gravel: The floor tiles can be used for private use while camping but not for a large area supporting the weight of a tent, for example
  • Earth / grass: The floor tiles can be laid if the earth / grass is dry, hard and stable.

It is possible to walk on the flooring easily, even with very high, narrow heels, because the structure of the click TILE floor tiles is relatively compact.

It is no problem at all to use them in a garage or carport. One square metre of click TILE floor tiles can withstand a weight of up to 110 tons.

The tiles can be cut to the desired size with a jigsaw or good knife.

It is not essential to purchase the corner and edge strips as accessories. The smooth side can also form the outer edge without connecting pieces especially when the sides of the room or patio / balcony are enclosed by a wall or grille. We generally recommend using the corner and edge strips as a clean edge in open areas as this also increases the overall stability and does away with connecting pieces in the floor tiles.

Make sure that the corner and edge strips are removed first, then remove the floor tiles row by row. Carefully separate the male and female pieces from each other.

The tiles can be cleaned without much equipment with water or a high-pressure household cleaning agent.

d-c-floor Click Vinyl

The surfaces must be dry, flat, free of cracks, have suitable tensile/compressive strength, clean, stable and permanently connected to the substrate. Textile surfaces must be removed for strength reasons and from a hygiene perspective (risk of mildew formation) prior to installation.

Click vinyl flooring is suitable for use in more humid rooms, provided that any standing water will drain away quickly.

Yes, provided that the conservatory is a living space, (ambient temperature 15°C–40°C). d-c-floor click vinyl flooring can also be laid in rooms with more direct sunlight due to its high dimensional stability. Nevertheless, try to create shade in extreme temperatures in order to enhance the floor’s durability.

No, it is flooring that has been specially developed for indoor use.

Click vinyl flooring must be acclimatized for at least 24 hours at a minimum of 18°C before use. The temperature must also be at least 15°C during installation.

As the material has high dimensional stability, it can be installed in larger areas without expansion joints (expansion joints only with a room length/width of > 15 m).

Yes, use of an underlay (compressive strength ≥ 200 kPa as per EN 16354) is necessary for design flooring. In this way, the acoustic properties of the rigid vinyl flooring will be optimized, localized unevenness of up to 1 mm corrected and the floor’s durability prolonged.

If the vinyl flooring is being laid directly on an underlying mineral surface such as concrete or screed, then use of a moisture barrier is recommended. This will protect your vinyl flooring against rising damp.

Click Vinyl can be laid on surfaces with existing hot water underfloor heating provided the surface temperature does not exceed 27°C for long periods. Due to the risk of localized overheating, laying Click Vinyl where there is electrical or infrared underfloor heating is inadvisable. Please note the DIN EN 1264 and DIN 4725 standards as well as the heating protocol.

d-c-floor click vinyl flooring is phthalate-free and therefore contains no harmful plasticizers. Plasticizers are subject to strict regulation in Germany/the EU, and our rigid vinyl flooring easily satisfies these requirements.

Dry cleaning: As a general rule, it is sufficient to clean the vinyl floor with a mop, broom or vacuum cleaner. Wet cleaning: Damp cleaning with a mop or wiper is recommended. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based, oil-based or wax-based agents, as they can attack the surface of the vinyl.

d-c-fix ceramics 3D Wallpaper

It can be applied to sloping walls without any problems.

Yes, the ceramics 3D Wallpaper can be applied behind cooker hobs. Splashes of grease can be removed easily with some water.

Yes, the ceramics 3D Wallpaper can be applied in a bathroom. However, it is important to ensure that all edges and butt joints are sealed with PVC cold welding paste (for PVC wallpapers), especially in wet rooms. This prevents moisture penetration. Then ventilate the room well!

The strip can be removed again and reapplied as long as the paste or adhesive has not fully dried.

It is possible to apply it to tiles. The joints can be covered with adhesive and do not need to be removed with filler.

The PVC layer can be removed without leaving any residues, even after many years. The paper layer applied to the wall is an ideal base for the next wallpapering project or can be soaked with water and then scraped off with a spatula.

No, the strips must be glued edge to edge.

The special d-c-fix ceramics adhesive can be used for absorbent surfaces.

The ceramics 3D Wallpaper is completely waterproof. It is therefore very easy to clean and care for. It can be cleaned with gentle household liquid detergents, soap solutions or similar. Then wash the wall surface with clean water. Attention: avoid acetone, white spirit and direct heat!

The surface on which the ceramics 3D Wallpaper is to be applied must be smooth, firm, dry and free from cracks and holes. Large uneven areas must first be removed with a suitable filler.

Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles

d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles

Applying the wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) is quite simple: First remove the white backing paper, which protrudes from the foil at the top and right. All d-c-fix tablecloths are food safe. This means that you can eat the food even if it comes into contact with the tablecloth.

In principle, the tablecloths that are suitable for machine washing can be washed repeatedly without a problem in accordance with the care instructions. However, there is a risk that the stain guard finish gradually deteriorates if they are washed too frequently or regularly in a washing machine. The tablecloths should therefore not be washed more than 5-6 times in a washing machine.

We recommend wiping stains off the tablecloth immediately after use with a mild cleaning agent and a damp cloth. Stains, liquids, inks and particularly aggressive and heavily pigmented substances (e.g. ketchup, mustard) should be removed immediately. Strongly abrasive and chlorine-based cleaning agents must never be used as they may attack the surface coating and discolouration may occur. Note: Petals, leaves and moisture may cause stains when used outdoors for long periods of time.

Moderately warm items, such as a coffee pot, can be placed on the tablecloth for a short time. Contact with hot items, such as a frying pan, must be avoided, otherwise the surface of the tablecloth may be damaged.

The table protector must be placed on the table with the textile side downwards, as the PVC foam could otherwise damage table surfaces with shellack or nitrocellulose lacquer coating, water-soluble varnish or unhardened paint sealants.

Measure the length and width or the diameter of your table and add twice the overhang you want on the sides. This is generally 25cm.

These folds can be more or less removed by ironing the reverse side of textile-backed tablecloths. Tablecloths that are made entirely from PVC (e.g. lacquer foil, transparent) must never be ironed.
