We recommend the d-c-fix application kit. This consists of a utility knife with a snap-off blade and a smoothing blade. It’s also helpful to have at hand a pencil, a ruler, scissors, and possibly a hairdryer (the latter is helpful when rounded corners need to be covered).
You can use a ruler and pencil to draw any desired shape on the backing paper before cutting it out. The grid on the backing paper is a handy aid here. To achieve accurate edge finishes, we recommend always leaving an excess of approx. 4 mm when cutting. You can then trim away the excess with a sharp utility knife at the end.
If the surface to be covered with foil is larger than the foil dimensions, several pieces of foil can be attached to each other. Stick the individual pieces together so that they overlap by approximately 10 mm to avoid exposed areas later on.
This is not a problem. You can carefully peel off the film and reapply it (except from on paper or cardboard surfaces), because it takes several hours for its full adhesive power to develop.
It should be smooth, dust-free and grease-free; untreated wood (chipboard or plywood) can be treated with a primer (sealing primer/acrylic base) beforehand.
Of course. To do this, you can heat the film with a hairdryer at the lowest heat setting during application. You can then pull it effortlessly around corners and edges. However, be careful not to overstretch the film.
It is always best only to remove part of the backing paper and press down on the foil from the middle to the sides using a scraper or cloth. If you place the foil incorrectly, you can peel it off and try again (except from paper or card board). For the best result, use a scraper to smooth it out. Alternatively, you can use a small square of wood covered with a soft piece of carpet or fabric.
With non-porous surfaces a little water can be sprayed on the surface. This makes it easier to apply the foil.
The d-c-fix adhesive films are generally designed for indoor use and therefore for regular room temperatures in living spaces. However, a temporarily higher thermal load (e.g. exposure to direct sunlight) does not pose a problem.
We only recommend the use of d-c-fix films in wet rooms for bathroom furniture such as cabinets or similar. To ensure that the film remains in place for a long time, make sure that the room is aired regularly so that moisture from bathing or showering can escape.
Yes, d-c-fix foils can be cleaned with any commercially available cleaning products. The best option is warm water with a little dishwashing liquid. Wet patches can be rubbed dry with a soft cloth.
The use of alcohol-based disinfectants should be avoided. There is a risk of the print colour fading or blurring slightly.
In principle, the film should stick to them. However, it also depends on the condition of the surface. It’s important that the surface is free of dust, grease and dirt. Edges or uneven surfaces should be sanded down a little – it’s best to vacuum and wipe it with a damp cloth afterward and then allow it to dry. Place the film on the surface in one sweep and press it down firmly using a smoothing blade or cloth.
No, adhesive films are not floor coverings or intended for traffic. The foil scratches and is destroyed.
In principle, this is possible. However, the surface should be as smooth as possible (e.g. no checker plate foil) and free of dust and grease. If the film underneath is a PP or PE film (polyolefins), for example, the adhesive bond will not be as strong as on other surfaces. If the film is applied on top of an existing PVC film, it will also not be easy to remove later as the films form a strong adhesive bond.
In principle, this is possible. However, it’s important to check whether the varnish is plasticizer-resistant and which solvents are present in the varnish. Suitable solvents include ethanol/isopropanol/water/mineral spirits. Whether it actually works in individual cases should be tested on a small suitable area, as there are many varnish systems on the market.
Option 1:
Spray the adhesive residues with clean water and let soak for a few minutes. The adhesive swells and can be scraped off with a spatula / scraper.
Option 2:
Wet the adhesive residues with a mixture of white spirit and isopropanol (at a ratio of 1:1), let soak and scrape off with a spatula / scraper. If necessary, finish with a (window) cleaning agent.
No. In the event of a fire our foils will burn just like other PVC products.
No, we do not offer an application service. For professional application, contact a specialist company in your area. However, our d-c-fix foils are very easy to work with and can usually be applied without difficulty even by amateurs.

Yes, d-c-fix adhesive films can be removed again, even after a long time has passed. To do so, simply start at one corner and carefully peel off the film from there. A hairdryer can be used to soften the adhesive slightly, making it a little easier to remove by hand. Any adhesive residue can then be removed using an alcohol-based cleaning agent.
Please note: If the adhesive film has been applied to an unstable surface such as damaged paint or thin veneer, removing the film may cause damage to the underlying surface.
The d-c-fix films are intended exclusively for indoor use. In outdoor areas, the weather can have a negative impact on the service life of the films (e.g. altered appearance due to intense sunlight or adhesive impairment due to rain, snow, etc.).
The films can be applied to cabinet fronts for a quick and easy kitchen makeover. However, our standard films are not suitable for kitchen worktops, as they are subject to contact with food and high levels of heat in the area of the stove/oven.
Most of our deco films are available in short and long rolls (2 m and 15 m lengths). They are generally each available in widths of 45 cm, 67.5 cm and 90 cm. There are exceptions in the case of special and functional films (e.g. velour, metallic, blackboard and whiteboard films). Availability of the various dimensions varies depending on the design.

Self-adhesive window foils can also be processed wet (with water) – this is actually recommended, to position the foil better on the window and avoid air bubbles.
This makes it easier to scrape away the water from underneath the film, as the smoothing blade glides better over the film surface. With sensitive films such as the static Rainbow window film, water should be avoided on the film surface and, instead, only the soft side of the smoothing blade should be used. Alternatively, a thin, soft microfiber cloth can be placed around the edge of the smoothing blade to protect the film surface during application and make it easier to work with.
The films can be used in rooms with high humidity, in fact the static-cling films are particularly suitable here. You can apply them onto shower cubicles or windows, for example.
The self-adhesive window films from d-c-fix can be easily removed at the edges and then peeled off the window pane. If the film is difficult to remove, you can warm it slightly using a hairdryer to make it easier to peel off. If adhesive residue remains on the window, it can simply be soaked in warm water and is then easier to remove.

The d-c-fix window films can be securely applied to all vertical clear and tinted single glazing as well as to clear double glazing and clear laminated low-emissivity insulating glazing (single glazing). In the case of tinted double glazing and clear laminated double glazing, the window manufacturer should be contacted and their instructions followed. We do not recommend applying window films to slanted or horizontally aligned glazing, as this can exacerbate any existing damage to the window (even if it is not yet visible) and, in the worst case, can lead to glass breakage.
Depending on the design in question, the d-c-fix window films are usually completely translucent.
The d-c-fix films are designed for indoor use, as the weather outside can have a negative impact on the service life of the films.
Generally, the sunlight hits skylights and windows that are not horizontally aligned at a different angle. As a result, the impact of the sun on the pane and therefore also on the film is even greater than normal. This can lead to higher thermal stresses in the pane, which in turn can cause the glass to break. The use of our films further increases the thermal stresses. We therefore advise against applying d-c-fix films to skylights. Important: It’s not our films themselves that cause the glass to break, they only reinforce existing tensions and can therefore trigger glass breakage.
As long as the glass films do not come into direct contact with food, there is no reason why glass films should not be used on glass surfaces in the kitchen. With glass kitchen splashbacks, it’s important to ensure that the film is not installed behind stoves or on/above ovens due to the high heat levels.
For regular use on glass panes and glass surfaces, the temperatures are generally not very high, so there are no restrictions. However, the use of glass films in saunas and ovens should be avoided.
Static-Cling Window Foils

The static-cling window films can be applied to all vertical windows made of real glass. Real glass surfaces that do not face outdoors (e.g. glass tables) can be fitted with static-cling window films regardless of their orientation (vertical or horizontal). In general, d-c-fix window films are designed for indoor use, so they are not recommended for use outdoors or in vehicles
For regular use on glass panes and glass surfaces, the temperatures are generally not very high, so there are no restrictions. However, the use of glass films in saunas and ovens should be avoided.
It's easy: first clean the surface to which you want to adhere the foil thoroughly with a commercially available detergent. Then moisten the surface generously with water containing dishwashing liquid. Detach the backing paper completely from the foil and if necessary also wet the foil. Lay the foil on the moistened surface and move it to the desired position. Now eliminate the water and air bubbles by pressing to the sides using a smoother or a cloth. Any clouding of transparent foil will disappear after a few days at a room temperature of 20°C.
- The film’s adherence has been further improved.
- d-c-fix static premium film is more attractive in appearance and has a higher quality feel.
- d-c-fix static premium glass and window film is even easier to apply.
Check that the surface is clean and that the film is not protruding or has been applied over edges (for example, touching the silicon seal on the window frame), allowing air to enter. Check that you have removed the backing paper or the transparent backing film. Try to attach the film again using plenty of water, and then press the water out thoroughly using a smoothing blade. If the film still won’t stick, contact us. We will be glad to provide further assistance.

d-c-fix classic Floor Tiles (self-adhesive)
The tiles are suitable for laying in areas with a low footfall. No laying on floating floor coverings (laminate, parquet, click vinyl), PVC or linoleum as well as in rooms exposed to heat, cold or high levels of humidity (e.g. underfloor heating, conservatory).
A ruler/measuring tape, pencil and utility knife would be useful. A clean paint roller or similar tool can also be used to apply pressure and improve adhesion.
Yes. All you need is a ruler and a box cutter. The best method is to just score the surface of the tile and then break it along this target line.
Arrows indicating the laying direction are printed on the back. Peel off the backing paper and press the tiles to the floor across the entire surface, starting from the center and working outward toward the edges. The next tile is laid in the same way, adjacent to the tile that has already been laid.
The tiles can be cleaned easily using a damp cloth and cleaning agent.
The d-c-fix floor tiles can only be laid on smooth floor coverings (such as tiled surfaces) in low-traffic living areas. Application on floating floor coverings (laminate, parquet, click vinyl), PVC or linoleum, or in spaces exposed to heat, cold or high levels of humidity (e.g. underfloor heating, conservatories), is not recommended.
Before applying d-c-fix floor tiles, the surface to be covered must also be even, smooth, and free of dirt, dust, grease or moisture. Any unevenness greater than 3mm must be evened out beforehand. In addition, acclimatization of the tiles at room temperature 48 hours before application is also recommended.
When purchasing multiple boxes, please also make sure these have the same batch no.

Yes, the ceramics 3D Wallpaper can be applied in a bathroom. However, it is important to ensure that all edges and butt joints are sealed with PVC cold welding paste (for PVC wallpapers), especially in wet rooms. This prevents moisture penetration. Then ventilate the room well!
The strip can be removed again and reapplied as long as the paste or adhesive has not fully dried.
It is possible to apply it to tiles. The joints can be covered with adhesive and do not need to be removed with filler.
The PVC layer can be removed without leaving any residues, even after many years. The paper layer applied to the wall is an ideal base for the next wallpapering project or can be soaked with water and then scraped off with a spatula.
No, the strips must be glued edge to edge.
For optimum hold, we recommend our d-c-fix Ceramics adhesive. If this is not available, any adhesive that is suitable for wallpaper may be used. Adhesives with a thicker consistency make application even easier.
The ceramics 3D Wallpaper is completely waterproof. It is therefore very easy to clean and care for. It can be cleaned with gentle household liquid detergents, soap solutions or similar. Then wash the wall surface with clean water. Attention: avoid acetone, white spirit and direct heat!
The surface on which the ceramics 3D Wallpaper is to be applied must be smooth, firm, dry and free from cracks and holes. Large uneven areas must first be removed with a suitable filler.
The d-c-fix Ceramics 3D wallpapers are heat-resistant up to 80°C. They are classified into fire resistance class E.
The d-c-fix Ceramics are not intended for use in the shower. They are water-resistant or splash-proof, provided all outer edges are sealed with silicone.
Self-Adhesive Wall Tiles
d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles
Applying the wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) is quite simple: First remove the white backing paper, which protrudes from the foil at the top and right. Apply the first wall tile to the bottom left corner, with the excess foil pointing upward and to the right. Apply the next tile overlapping the foil on the previous tile.
Recommended tools include a utility knife, ruler and pencil. As an option, a rubber roller or paint roller can be used to apply the self-adhesive wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) to the wall with uniform, firm pressure.
Yes, the wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) can be trimmed using a utility knife. A ruler can be used to ensure a straight cut.
The self-adhesive wall tiles stick to the wall until they are removed by the customer. The adhesive strength of d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles increases over time.
Any dirt should be removed immediately.
The wall tiles can be cleaned with water and dish soap. If d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles become heavily soiled, the following cleaning agents are suitable:
- Sidolin streak-free Crystal
- All-purpose cleaner
- Glass cleaner
Yes, the wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) are a building product and accordingly have a CE mark.
Yes, the wall tiles (d-c-fix SA Wall Tiles) are harmless to health. They fulfill all REACH requirements and have low emissions (VOC A+).
Yes, the wall tiles can be removed again. To do this, go under the tiles with a flat object (e.g. screwdriver), lift them up and pull them off. If the tiles are difficult to lift, you can heat them with a hair dryer beforehand. If material or adhesive residue remains on the wall, it can be removed with a spatula, nail polish remover or water and washing-up liquid.
The d-c-fix wall tiles can be used behind gas and electric stoves, but not behind stoves with an open flame.
The d-c-fix wall tiles are heat-resistant up to 80°C. They are classified into fire resistance class E.
All d-c-fix wall tiles are water-resistant and can be cleaned using a damp cloth or sponge.
The 30.5cm x 30.5cm wall tiles are waterproof so long as the transparent backing paper on the film is intact and the tiles are applied over the protruding backing paper. All outer edges should be sealed with silicone to ensure watertightness.
The d-c-fix wall tiles are designed to be applied directly onto existing tiles, covering these and creating a uniform look as a result. It must only be ensured that the tiles to be covered are clean and free of oil and dust. Optimal application is made possible when the d-c-fix wall tiles are applied to smooth tiles, since these offer the ideal application surface for the adhesive side of the wall tiles.

All d-c-fix tablecloths are food safe. This means that you can eat the food even if it comes into contact with the tablecloth.
In principle, the tablecloths that are suitable for machine washing can be washed repeatedly without a problem in accordance with the care instructions. However, there is a risk that the stain guard finish gradually deteriorates if they are washed too frequently or regularly in a washing machine. The tablecloths should therefore not be washed more than 5-6 times in a washing machine.
We recommend wiping stains off the tablecloth immediately after use with a mild cleaning agent and a damp cloth. Stains, liquids, inks and particularly aggressive and heavily pigmented substances (e.g. ketchup, mustard) should be removed immediately. Strongly abrasive and chlorine-based cleaning agents must never be used as they may attack the surface coating and discolouration may occur. Note: Petals, leaves and moisture may cause stains when used outdoors for long periods of time.
Moderately warm items, such as a coffee pot, can be placed on the tablecloth for a short time. Contact with hot items, such as a frying pan, must be avoided, otherwise the surface of the tablecloth may be damaged.
The table protector must be placed on the table with the textile side downwards, as the PVC foam could otherwise damage table surfaces with shellack or nitrocellulose lacquer coating, water-soluble varnish or unhardened paint sealants.
Measure the length and width or the diameter of your table and add twice the overhang you want on the sides. This is generally 25cm.
These folds can be more or less removed by ironing the reverse side of textile-backed tablecloths. Tablecloths that are made entirely from PVC (e.g. lacquer foil, transparent) must never be ironed.
