Frequently asked questions

We recommend the d-c-fix application kit. This consists of a utility knife with a snap-off blade and a smoothing blade.

It’s also helpful to have at hand a pencil, a ruler, scissors and possibly a hairdryer (the latter is helpful when rounded corners need to be covered).

Yes, d-c-fix adhesive films can be removed again, even after a long time has passed. To do so, simply start at one corner and carefully peel off the film from there. However, how well removal works depends on the type and condition of the surface. You can use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive slightly, making it a little easier to remove. Adhesive residues can then be soaked in water and removed.

Please note: If the adhesive film has been applied to an unstable surface such as damaged paint or thin veneer, removing the film may cause damage to the underlying surface.
