Yard stick being used to measure a window.
Step 1

Use the yard stick to measure the width of the window and the desired height of the privacy screen and then clean the kitchen window thoroughly.

Utility knife being used to cut the foil along the ruler.

Transfer the measurements onto the backing film of the window foil and cut the piece of foil to size along the ruler using the utility knife.

Spray a generous amount of application fluid or water from the spray bottle onto the glass surface.

Backing film being removed from the foil.
Step 4

Remove the backing film from the window foil.

Foil being applied to window.
Step 5

Place the window foil in the desired position on the glass surface.

Smoothing blade smooths over foil.
Step 6

Use the smoothing blade to smooth the window foil, bit by bit, applying light pressure on the window to allow any moisture between the window glass and the back of the foil to escape.

Finally, use the cloth to wipe the glass surface and window frame dry.
