Wood-look Makeover: Give Your Home Library a New Look!

Wood-look Makeover: Give Your Home Library a New Look!

From Harry Potter to Shakespeare – some of the great works of world literature can be found in almost every home library. For real bookworms, the “home” for their favorite stories is often just as important as the books themselves. In other words, bookshelves are lovingly decorated and, of course, regularly dusted. Anyone looking to give their home library a bit more loving care will treat it to that certain extra – a special makeover: for example, with the d-c-fix “Wild Oak Wood” adhesive film. Let's go!

Hands hold the yard stick alongside the ruler.
Step 1

To begin with, the surfaces to be covered are measured using a yard stick.

Pencil draws a marking on the rear side of the adhesive film.
Step 2

The dimensions are then transferred to the backing paper of the adhesive film, leaving a little overhang. Pay attention to the direction of the grain of the wood.

A utility knife cuts the foil along the ruler.
Step 3

Then cut the various pieces of adhesive film to size using a ruler and a utility knife.

Smoothing blade moves over the adhesive film.
Step 4

Peel the backing paper off of the foil and stick the piece of foil onto the fitting surface. To do this, apply the adhesive film, press it down with the palm of your hand and then smooth it in place using the smoothing blade.

Excess adhesive film is cut away with the utility knife.
Step 5

Carefully cut away any excess adhesive film along the edges using the utility knife.

Done!
